From copy workshop to art destination

Originally a small village, Dafen rose to global fame in the 1990's as a center for hand-painted reproductions of famous artworks. At its peak, thousands of artists were producing copies of masterpieces for global exportation
Nowadays, even if reproduction remains part of local identity, the village has transformed into a more diversied area where visitors can discover the original creations by local artists through contemporary galleries, exhibitions and art studios.

What to shop ?

- Reproductions of masterpieces (Van Gogh, Monet, Da Vinci...)
→ prices between 200€ and 450€ → discover artworks reproduction shop
- Original artworks by emerging Cantonese artists
- Custom-made paintings on demand

In addition, Dafen is obviously a perfect place to buy some artistic stuff if you are also a drawer or a painter
(brushes, canvases, easels, oil and acrylic paints, sketching tools...).

Dafen Art Museum

Its role is bringing ontext to explain the evolution of Dafen and, at the same time, organizing some exhibitions to support local emerging artists.

Other experiences

Going to Dafen is the opportunity to join painting workshops, where everyone can take part in short sessions guided by local artists to learn basic oil painting techniques, and either reproduce a famous artwork or create one's own piece.
