Located on Xiaoguwei Island in Panyu District, Guangzhou, the Southern Han Mausoleums Museum is a site museum built around two Southern Han royal mausoleums. The museum preserves the De Mausoleum of Liu Yin (within the Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center near South China Normal University) and the Kang Mausoleum of Liu Yan, located about 200 meters west of the museum. These mausoleums date to the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period and belonged to the Southern Han regime.
Excavated in 2003–2004, the tombs were named among China’s Top 10 New Archaeological Discoveries and designated a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit in 2006. They are considered one of the most important archaeological finds from this period and key historical remains of Southern Han culture in Guangzhou.
