Located on Yeli Island, the Zhuhai Grand Theater is one of the most recognizable architectural landmarks of the city. Opened in 2017, it is the first opera house built on an island in China and a major cultural venue for concerts, opera, ballet and theatrical performances. It plays an important role in the cultural life of the Greater Bay Area (Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao) , hosting international productions, and local artistic events.

Spatial Design
The architecture of the Zhuhai Grand Theater is inspired by the image of two giant seashells rising from the water, symbolizing Zhuhai’s strong connection to the ocean. The larger shell houses the main opera hall and a smaller one contains a multi-functional theater.
