Built during the Song Dynasty, the Zhaoqing Ancient City Wall is one of the most remarkable and best-preserved historical fortifications in Guangdong. With a total circumference of 2,800 meters, it encircles the old city and stands as a rare example of a complete Song-era city wall.

Zhaoqing itself is a city deeply connected to Song Dynasty history, and this ancient wall reflects its long-standing cultural heritage.

Despite nearly a thousand years of weathering and change, the location and layout of the wall have remained unchanged, earning it the nickname among locals: “The Little Great Wall”. Unlike many reconstructed city walls in China, this one preserves its original structure, making it exceptionally valuable historically.

### Opening Hours
The city wall is open all day , however gate towers generally open from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm

Piyun Tower

Standing as the highest point of the wall, Piyun Tower offers a commanding view over the old city and surrounding landscape.
