Known locally as 小公园, Little Park this historic district is the cultural and commercial heart of the old Shantou. Once a bustling hub during the treaty port era, it reflects the city’s golden age of trade and overseas connections. At its center stands a distinctive radial street layout, with arcaded buildings spreading outward like spokes, an urban design rarely seen in China.

The Iconic Pavilion
At the heart of the district is a charming pavilion that has become the symbol of Shantou. Surrounded by old arcades, it captures the nostalgic charm of the early 20th century.
The area is also famous for its qilou (arcade buildings), a blend of Chinese and Western architectural styles.
