The garden’s owner was obsessed with collecting stones to preserve the works of renowned calligraphers and highlight the cultural depth of the garden, giving rise to the saying:
“He collected more stones than books.”
These carefully selected rocks form dramatic compositions reflect traditional Chinese aesthetics those garden’s treasures include one of the 3 most famous calligraphy collections of Lingnan in the Qing Dynasty.

The garden features an unusually large pond. Even if it is quite raree in Lingnan classical gardens, it strenghten the sense of openness and tranquility of the place, despite being located in a bustling commercial city.
