Known as the “thousand-year business road,” Beijing Road has maintained its central role in Guangzhou while bearing witness to the city's stunning 2,000-year transformation. The street is not only a hub for shopping and food, but also home to historical relics visible beneath the glass panels dating back over two millennia, from the Qin and Han dynasties to the Ming and Qing.

## The Clepsydra
This ancient system was used in imperial China to measure time through water flow. On nowadays Beijing Road, which was the ancient main axis of Guangzhou accross different eras, this Clepsydra not only became a symbol of the street but also for the whole city.
