CCTV Nanhai Movie and TV Town

This studio features magnificent imperial palaces, historic film sets, live performances and immersive Chinese cultural experiences.

Located in Foshan’s Nanhai District, CCTV Nanhai Movie and TV Town is one of Guangdong’s major film and television production bases. Opened to visitors on December 1998, this National 4A-rated tourist attraction covers more than 100 hectares and has welcomed over 500 film and television crews. Its elaborate historical sets, live performances and themed attractions offer visitors a journey through different periods of Chinese history. You can combine this visit with Guoyi Film and Television City also located in Foshan (Xiqiao).

### The Imperial Palace

The Tianchao Palace area features monumental gates, grand courtyards and magnificent palace buildings arranged along a central axis. Its imperial architecture provides an impressive setting for historical dramas and photography.

Jiangnan Water Town

Inspired by the traditional architecture of southern China, this area features tiled roofs, narrow streets and picturesque waterways. It recreates the atmosphere of historic Jiangnan towns.

Old Hong Kong and Macao Streets

The Hong Kong and Macao cultural area recreates nostalgic urban streets with vintage storefronts and period architecture. These sets contrast with the traditional Chinese palace and water-town environments.

The town’s varied architecture has appeared in productions including Bodyguards and Assassins, Ip Man: The Final Fight and The Great Adventurer Wesley.

Beyond its filming locations, CCTV Nanhai Movie and TV Town offers live performances inspired by Chinese history and cinema. Depending on the day’s program, visitors can watch historical battle reenactments, water-combat shows and traditional cultural performances.
