About Ge Hong
Ge Hong (284-364), a famous Taoist scholar of the Eastern Jin dynasty (317-420) who chose Luofu Mountain as a place of retreat and spiritual cultivation, where he studied immortality and practiced alchemy, making the area the cradle of several Traditional Chinese Medecine (TCM) discoveries. His presence also helped establish Mount Luofu as an important center of Taoist thought and religious practice. Over time, his teachings attracted followers and contributed to the mountain’s reputation as one of the sacred sites of Taoism.
